Lead out the bunch with the Velobike Bunch Bars, a UCI-legal carbon fiber endurance handlebar designed in close collaboration with New Zealand's national track cycling team. These handlebars are specifically engineered to remain UCI legal even after January 1, 2027, ensuring long-term compliance for competitive riders.
The Bunch Bars were developed through a rider-centered design approach, empowering athletes with the greatest advantage from optimized body positioning and aerodynamics. They integrate five main grip positions, each offering distinct benefits for various track scenarios:
Traditional Drop Grip: Provides classic comfort and maximum control for all-around riding.
Drop Front Grip: Allows hands to slide forward while lowering elbows, achieving greater aerodynamic efficiency without repositioning the main grip.
Hood Grip: A popular transition for road cyclists, these horns offer maximum comfort when high on the track during a Madison, and the raised position opens up airways for quicker aerobic recovery.
Pursuit Grip: Designed for the greatest aero advantage, this safe and stable grip positions palms against the horns, making forearms horizontal and eliminating their frontal area from drag. This narrow, furthest-forward drop position is the ultimate fusion between pursuiting and bunch racing.
Top Grip: A flat and horizontal top section serves as a stable platform for slinging a Madison partner or for resting post-race. A cutout on either side of the stem cradles the rider's thumb for enhanced grip and control.
Pairing the Bunch Bars with Small Aero Bar End Plugs (Gen2) is recommended for optimal aerodynamic performance. This design has proven its excellence on the global stage, contributing to multiple Olympic medals, including Gold for Matt Walls (Great Britain) in Men's Omnium, Gold for Lasse Norman Hansen (Denmark) in Men's Madison, Silver for Campbell Stewart (New Zealand) in Men's Omnium, and Silver for Matt Walls (Great Britain) in Men's Madison at the Tokyo 2020 (2021) Olympics.
