The Campagnolo Potenza 11 Crankset takes all the innovations of Campy’s carbon cranks and adapts them for aluminum. The result is a great crankset at an impressive price.
In the debate between aluminum and carbon, some folks just prefer metal. It’s cheaper and arguably more durable. They like the confidence that comes from aluminum. Campy has always had aluminum cranks, but these are a step beyond.
They upgraded Potenza by moving to their Ultra-Torque thru-axle design. This means the bearings come pressed onto the crank halves, and you install Ultra-Torque bottom bracket cups, purchased separately, push in each side of the crank and then join them in the middle with a single hex-head bolt. this is a light and secure mounting method as the teeth on the left mesh perfectly with the teeth on the right.
The crank comes in three sizes: 170, 172.5, and 175mm. There are three standard chainring options: 53/39 (standard), 52/36 (mid-compact), and 50/34 (compact. The crankset comes in two finishes, Black and Silver. Weight is 801g for a 170mm 50/34 with bearings attached.
