The EPS 11 speed rear derailleur is theproduct of exactly the same project which spawned the Campagnolo's rangetopping EPS groupsets. And it has inherited the same class-beating performance.
As with the mechanical parts, the rearderailleur represents the pride and joy of the EPS project and encompasses aseries of technologies and innovations that allow shifting speed to beoptimised and guarantee unprecedented precision, even in the case of
multiple shifting
with 11 sprockets at a time. Furthermore itis possible to calculate the position of the chain on the sprockets andchainrings and also to change it, by even just a hundredth. If the battery runsout "on the road", the

Function allows for manual"uncoupling" the rear derailleur to position it on the required sprocket.
The EPS rear derailleur
is comprised mainly of a mechanicalstructure, derived from the mechanical gear and composed of a derailleurrod/parallelogram/derailleur cage, of a worm screw enabled by an electronicactuator. As with the derailleur, the electronic rear derailleur actuator iscomposed of a gear motor and a sensor, the built-in resolver, that reads itsmovements. The geometry of the parallelogram has been made more rigid andoptimised to promote interaction with the electronic parts. The lower and upperbodies, the parallelogram and the carbon derailleur cage are moved by a screwsystem and lead worm screw (not a spring screw) which, in turn, is enabled bythe electronic actuator that communicates with the DTI. The built-in resolverinside the actuator is capable of reading the movements of the rear derailleurat any time and optimising its position by communicating with the DTI (DigitalTech Intelligence).
The rear derailleur is also equipped with aplay recovery system using a helicoidal spring that optimizes stability andprecision and keeps operation and performance constant over time, even aftermany kms have been covered. As with the mechanical rear derailleur, it ispossible to optimize its position with respect to the frame and chain by actingon two adjusting screws: the screw that adjusts the mechanical end stop and thescrew that adjusts the distance between the upper pulley and sprockets. Byusing these screws it is possible to optimize the installation of the rearderailleur and increase the precision of its operation.
The Campagnolo EPS electronic drive traincomplies with IP67 international standards. This means that the system is ableto protect its electronic components from dust and liquid infiltration.
Note:
For performance, longevity andfunctionality the EPS drivetrain must be used with the mechanical Campagnolo11-speed EPS drivetrain components. Only suited for frames, that are designedfor inner cable routing.
