TIPS FOR OPTICIANS FOR INSTALLING PRESCRIPTION LENSES
Check PD - H Parameters: Ensure the optical insert is correctly shaped for the specific Scicon Sports Sunglasses model before installation. Use Nylor technology for custom shaping of single-vision and progressive lenses. Verify pupillary distance (PD) and optical center height (H) after installation.
Choose Spherical Geometry Lenses: For optimal performance, use prescription lenses with spherical geometry and designs suited to the frame type.
Check Horizontal Alignment of Optical Center: Ensure the optical insert demo lenses are horizontally aligned so the optical center matches the pupil position.
Refer to User’s Existing Prescription: Base the prescription on the user’s everyday eyewear for easier adaptation.
Consider Vertex Distance: Account for the reduced vertex distance when fitting lenses into the optical insert.
Compensate for High Spherical Powers: For lenses exceeding +/- 3.00 diopters, adjust for horizontal prismatic compensation and the reduced vertex distance due to the frame’s high frontal wrap.
Adjust for Prismatic Deviation: Apply a horizontal decentration of +1.00 mm per eye for negative lenses and -1.00 mm per eye for positive lenses to correct for prismatic deviation caused by the frame’s frontal wrap angle.
Verify Lens Centering: Ensure the lenses are properly centered on the Optical Insert after installation.
Apply Anti-Reflection (AR) Coating: Adding an AR coating to prescription lenses improves visual comfort by reducing glare and reflections, enhancing clarity, and increasing durability.
