Withthe M8120 Deore XT crank, Shimano takes a big step forward in several aspects.Probably the most outstanding innovation: The M8120 is designed for directmount chainrings. When setting up the crank, Shimano continues to rely on theproven Hollowtech-2 technology with 24 millimeter crankshaft. Thanks to designoptimization, the current generation of cold-forged aluminum cranks has furtherreduced weight while increasing rigidity. Available are the matching DirectMount chainrings with 28 to 36 teeth. Like any Deore XT crank, it can be usedfor almost any intended use from marathon to freeride.
